The dimple is a 400 ¥ìm diameter boss at the center of dome inside, designed to better the surface contact
avoiding dust or foreign material interference. The idea making use of dimple has been developing to
circle-type dimple, reverse-dimple and the like.
 
While round-type domes are preferably applied in those state-of-art portable communication industries like
mobile phones, 4-leg domes structurally designed to support single sided circuit is recommended for
simpler appliances using single sided circuit or membrane switch.
 
Over-travel means metal domes over-traveling past the level of dome's rim, while most domes are designed
to be depressed to the level, no further. Our 5mm diameter or larger round domes are designed to allow an
additional 0.100mm over-travel/over stroke past the flat plane with no damage.
 
Our reel-type domes could be applicable to your automated system, while there are a few different ways of

Too many different sizes and shapes are there optional for better tactile feel but a flat-bottom plunger
diameter larger than ¥Õ 2mm is not desirable for any types of 6mm diameter or smaller domes and 1.6mm
or smaller diameter flat-bottom plunger is recommended for the domes smaller than ¥Õ 4.5mm.
 
Individual dome chips can't be placed on circuit board without being aided by pressure-sensitive adhesive
tape and in this respect the metal dome sheet is the best way to most simply and easily apply metal domes.
Metal dome sheet is the simplest way of mounting domes on circuit board by manual or auto peel-n-place
method.
 
Absolutely not. When the domes are depressed, the rim/feet of dome slightly expands outward; therefore, if
the rim or feet of dome is soldered to be fixed, the domes natural movement will negatively affect the tactile
feel or, in cases, cause detachment of dome.
 
The life span is largely subject to test condition. Officially we guarantee 5 hundred-housand cycles for most
metal domes at 600g loading but substantially our test reaches up to more than 1 million cycles at 600g and
3 million cycles at 300g loading.
